Crowd Expectations

CP Guide has used information from past visits to produce our 2009 crowd expectations, however, we do not guarantee that the information will be accurate.  The expectations are based solely on our opinions and personal experiences.  There are many different reasons that could make the park more or less crowded than expected.

Days in which rain is forecasted, the park will be less crowded, especially when it may rain in the morning.  When it stops raining in the early afternoon, the park is less crowded that evening. On sunny and warm days, the park will be more crowded. Sundays are usually the least crowded day on weekends, except on weekends when Monday is a holiday. Since it is difficult to know the weather and how busy the park will be, we recommend staying in a hotel and spend more than a day at the park, along with visiting multiple times a year. There is much more than just coasters at Cedar Point, go experience what the resort truly offers.

We measure the crowds in three different categories.

Light :: Moderate :: Heavy

• Light crowds usually have short, 5 to 10 minute, waits for rides like the Iron Dragon and Disaster Transport.  Rides like Top Thrill Dragster, Millennium Force, and Maverick will have anywhere from a half hour wait to an hour wait.

• Moderate crowds usually have medium, 15 to 30 minute, waits for rides like the Iron Dragon and Disaster Transport.  Rides like Top Thrill Dragster, Millennium Force, and Maverick will have anywhere from a hour wait to an hour and a half wait.

• Heavy crowds usually have medium, 30 minute to one hour, waits for rides like the Iron Dragon and Disaster Transport.  Rides like Top Thrill Dragster, Millennium Force, and Maverick will have anywhere from a two hour wait to three hour wait.

Weekdays From May 18 to June 4 – Light
Weekends From May 17 to June 7 – Light to Moderate
Memorial Day Weekend, May 23-25 – Heavy to Light on Sunday

Weekdays From June 8 to July 9 – Moderate
Weekends From June 12 to July 12 – Moderate to Heavy
July 4 Weekend (July 3-5) – Extremely Heavy

Everyday from July 13 to August 23 – Heavy

Weekdays from August 24 to September 7 – Light
Weekends from August 28 to September 6 – Light to Moderate

PointFest Concert, September 19 – Extremely Heavy

HalloWeekends – September 12 to November 1

Fridays – Light to Moderate
Saturdays – Extremely Heavy
Sundays – Moderate to Heavy
